Saw this on tv yesterday.A lady was selling smoked garlic and smoked kosher salt. She grew the garlic harvested, dried, then smoked it.While she smoked the garlic she smoked the salt. The garlic sells for $8.25 for 3 heads. The salt sells for$1.00 an ounce.Looked interesting.www.smokingarlic.com

That, and some bread and butter, or in some spaghetti sauce, and oooooh! Sounds like a cool product. I'd buy it.

I can already hear our county sanitarians screaming if this isn't made in a certified kitchen! Sounds like a wonderful product, though.

I've made smoked garlic myself, and it's DELICIOUS.

Haven't tried smoking salt, but may have to.

She smoked the cloves whole on a pit in her yard. They had a pit made out of cinder blocks. It had three cinder blocks in the middle turned on their end.In between those three blocks were charcoal and woodchips. She put a screen that was curved on the sides on the cinder blocks to put the garlic on.Then in the corner she poured the salt in.Then she had a steel top she would slide off and on.
