We got a live poinsettia plant several weeks before Christmas. It is still alive and I have been watering it...picking off the dead leaves and letting a "plant light" (a light specialized for growing plants indoors) shine on it for about 12 hrs. a day and letting it have 12 hrs. of darkness. I heard that if they are in temps below 65 it will shock them, so I've been keeping an eye on the temp. where they're sitting. What else can I do to make this thing live? Sure, it was only a 3 dollar plant, but I like it and would like to try my 'green thumb' on keeping this thing alive...if it dies, no problem, though. What are your suggestions on keeping this thing alive? OH, do I need to move it out of the pot it came in? I know some flowers you have to because the pot is too small for the roots to grow properly or something?
