...I've never talked much about this here... but today I am feeling really discouraged and was hoping some of yall would pray for my 14 yr old son.

He has been sick for a year. Literally.

After many months we found out he has celiac disease. We elimiated gluten from his diet, and he feels much better (tho still bad) when he doesnt eat gluten. However, months later we found out he also has Lyme Disease.

He spends most of his days with terrible stomach pain, and no energy. He is almost always wheeling slowly around in an office chair rather than walking.

He cant tolerate the antibiotics for the Lyme disease. He cant even take a HALF DOSE without a herx reaction and terrible nausea.

I'm just weary...
Thanks for listening.

Lord, we just lift him up to you right now and ask you to touch his body and make him well. Give him healing and strength, Lord. Your word says by the stripes Jesus bore on the cross, we are healed. Lord, you can do exceedingly and abundantly and above all we ask or think. Amen

We have had Lymes in our family and I know it is draining - even when caught early. Could it be possible for him to get his antibiotic through an IV. He would have to sit and read or watch TV for about an hour each day. The visiting nurse could take care of the IV. At least this way, the meds would not be put in his stomach.

Thank you all so much!
Your kind replies brought tears to my eyes.
One of our frustrations is that we had to abandon the insurance approved doctors before we could get a diagnosis. So, now everything is out of pocket and we are not rich people.
We are living on one income, and it's not a big one at that. I know that so many of you understand that.
The tests that still need to be done are very very expensive. We can only do a little at a time, and it is so hard to wait and watch him suffer.
He just started an antibiotic and has only been on it 3 days and the results were so bad that the doctor said NOT to give him another dose. She is frustrated because she needs more test results and we are frustrated because we cant afford those tests! Praying that the Lord will work out these problems...
Thanks again to all of you.

Ark, I'd check with the Doctors to see if this is possible... it might be the answer. Wouldn't it be wonderful if this did the trick?

Father in Heaven, bless this son and his parents. Touch his body and give his Doctors and Technicians the wisdom they need to bring this boy back to health through you. Guide their minds, hearts and hands as they tend to him.

And give this family the peace they need in their hearts to get through this, in Jesus' precious name, Amen.

Call St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and explain what's going on. Ask for help or a referral. You need a really really good specialist.

If they don't help, call the Mayo Clinic.

But now that your current Dr. has somewhat figured out his illness(es) couldn't you take those results to an insurance approved Dr. and have him/her continue with the testing?

Prayers going out to you and your family

I agree, call St. Judes, and/or see if you can go back to your approved doctor (now that you have a diagnosis) so that they can order those tests for you!
