Please help with the grandfather clock again-pendullem wont swing-

    Now the pendullem wont swing and so it dont do anything -I really cant understand the directions on the clock site so could someone just give me some eazy directions how to fix it-it is a beautiful clock but i may end up just looking at it--thank you to everyone-Nancy

    Is the clock wound up all the way? I assume it's a wind up type clock...keys or chains for winding up weights or springs used? Don't over wind it though...

    YES IT IS WOUND UP-IT HASNT SWUNG SINCE I POLISHED THE CLOCK-GUESS I CLEANED IT TOO MUCH-NANCY

    give it a push if it has the chains you have to pull them down

    did you knock the pendullem off it pivot points, or is it out of level?


    if you were messing with it, my guess is it got knocked off it pivoit points, or bearings, or out of wack in some way, if you took it apart , that could be fun, in geting it back in to proper time,

    do you have the web site of the clock manufacture?
    if you do post it, and some one may be able to look at it and give you some more ideas,

    No clock experts in your area who can look it over for you? If it's such a nice clock (it sounds it) it will be worth getting it checked out and put into tip-top shape.

    there are no clock repairmen in our area --i am trying to get a manuel for it-and yes it is a beautiful clock--nancy
