Planting Grapes ?

    a tip for you that are planting grapes of any kind after you plant the grapes dig you a trench around the vine 6 to 12 inches away about 4 inche wide and 4 to 6 inches deep fill it almost full of IRON metal bolts nuts nails not coated nails then cover NO ALIMINUM GALVANIZED STAINLESS OR COATED METAL anything that will rust away in time grapes love iron

    when you plant a grape vine how long before it starts to produce grapes?....mink

    Generaly the first 2 years you remove any clusters to let the vine establish. In the third year you leave the clusters and should get a small crop. After that your good to go.

    I planted one grape vine last year (got it for $1 at Lowe's late in the season) and it's doing great this year. Guess I better go rummage around in the barn for some rusty junk to "plant" around it!
