Plant ID

    Found a plant in my sisters corn patch,its about 3ft tall and has papery lanterns with a deep yellow berry inside.I thought maybe it was in the nightshade family,maybe the leaves reminded me of it.The lanterns or seed pods are very pretty going to dry them or flower arrangement if they are not poision.I dont think its a ground cherry,to tall.

    I think its ground cherry- its bound to get tall if its competing with corn for light.

    yep, ground cherry. that berry tastes like pineapple. i love 'em. i let a whole bunch of them grow up in my garden this year, like a secondary crop.
