I was wondering if anyone knew ...

    a) will pigs eat cattails (the plant)?

    b) will it hurt them if they do?

    c) will it make the meat taste "off"?

I don't know if they will from experience, but cattails are good for people so they must be good for pigs. I would think they would eat them, but I doubt they would wade very deep to get them...perhaps if where the cattails were at was only muddy, not submerged?

Thanks, you've given me another idea to store away. I plan to have an "assisted" wetland area on my land, (using filtered graywater) and plan to keep it mostly stocked with native plants...I never thought about our future pigs rooting/feeding on the cattails...cool idea.
