Pig vocabulary

    :( OK.. I need help. I have never owned pigs but I would like to get stared with a few. But I have to admit that I do not understand some of the words. Could someone please tell all about pigs....lol atleast some words like farrow, gilt, and I am sure there are others but i don't know them....lol

    I can help with a few common ones -
    gilt - a young female
    sow - a female after breeding
    boar - a male
    barrow - a castrated male
    farrow - birthing

    I think a pigs vocabulary is pretty much covered when he says OINK. Unk

    Unk sounds a lot like Oink doesen't it. I think pigs only say unk after they get long in the tooth..
