Two of our kids are going to participate in the pig scramble at the state fair next week. We have never done this before, so I have a few questions, lol!

Do the kids generally get to keep the pigs they catch? Do they do anything to make it more difficult to catch them?

What is the best way to catch a pig?

My kids really want to take home a pig from the fair!

ROFL Beth! Didn't you say "No way" a couple months ago? hehehe

If they win one, you probably want to get a second one; they aren't happy alone, although yours might be OK with 3 kids crawling all over it all day. I wish that fair were closer, I'd love to see the Scramble!

Go for one of the back legs, then the other, lift 'em up and hold on tight!

Good for your son, how exciting! And how very sweet of the other boy. I'm sure you all will enjoy your new addition in both its forms, except for the trauma of...you know. Are you getting a second one to keep it company?

Beth, how did you do? Enquiring minds want to know!

Regarding the One Pig thing; the man I got my pigs from said he feels it is best to get two-that way there is healthy competition for food. (hense, they eat more and make weight more quickly) So, I guess it depends what you want to do with the pig.

Good luck! Hope he got one!

    Were the pigs greased?

We saw the FUNNIEST thing ever at the New Portland Fair---not the pig scramble but an EEL scramble on a wetted blue tarp....OMG I laughed so hard I cried! Not one of the kids wanted to take the eels home :nono:
