I've got a hamp/duroc gilt running with two Jersey bull calves on about 1/3 acre of rye/clover...they eat from the same hay rack and the pig "shares" their grain (sneaks it from them). They also share leftover produce/bread/fruit from our local store. Someone on the pig board mentioned that pigs can spread lepto to calves and that I shouldn't run them together. Should I separate them?

Growing up, my families neighbor always kept a pig in with his breeding age holstien heifers, on the theory that it would get them accustomed to having something bumping and brushing against their legs and make them calmer about being milked later in life
