Oyster Mushrooms---Planting question.

Good Morning Everyone!

While researching growing oyster mushrooms I have seen them grown in a variety of ways, from 5 gallon buckets, to plastic bags, to pallets. I work as a manger at a grocery store and have access to an endless supply of crates used to ship corn in. Since I have never tried growing mushrooms before I am tempted to try growing them in the crates as they would be free and if I fail I won't be out much. Is there any reason that this would not be a good growing container?

Thanks.

I don't see why not. Keep an eye on your moisture levels.

What medium do you intend to use?
Lots of folks and especially commercial outfits are using sawdust..It's cheap cheap and easy to get..... remember to Avoid walnut sawdust..
I prefer actual log grown oysters and ****ake's.
