Today was our towns annual aggie fair, I snapped some pics of the oxen pull for ya'll and some video as well.
the 1300lb group started with 1 1/2 tons on the boat, at the end there was 2 1/2 tons on the boat.

there were some herefords, holstiens the white ones I believe were charolais and chianina, there was one I believe was a swiss as well, there were a few crosses there was well.

some of them didn't seem like they'd been working together long, the team the boy had would not cooperate and did not get a full pull, there were a few others that seemed like they were new to eachother, or poorly trained.
some of the oxen seemed young as well, the team of herefords looked to be about 1-2 years oldeither that or they were minis.

the youngest co-teamster was 4, the youngest competitor was about 13, the oldest in his 50's.

Seems very interesting. I've never seen an oxen video before.
