Not seafood really but farmed shrimp I bet...

I can buy US shrimp(LA shrimp actually) peeled and flash frozen in the stores for twice what I would pay wholesale for them fresh. You loose 45-55% with the head and tail. It isn't worth it for me to peel them. I haven't bought fresh shrimp except when I want to boil them or to use them with the pants on.

Crawfish are another story.I guess we see it because down here we eat a lot more crawfish than most. They put chinese crawfish in the stores and people buy them, but not me. I can smell them in the packages. We peel all our own crawfish when the price drops in the spring, usually comes out to under $1 a pound peeled and a lot of work(we can get $5 a sack crawfish if you know where to go)
