Our first newborn American Blackbelly arrived this pm just before dark and rain.
So cute. Ewe was a first timer and she did great.

We thought she was in labor, kept raising her head up and shortly thereafter was this tiny, version of an ABS.
Beautiful. Don't know the sex, yet. The ewe was behaving as though she would have another, but it was the afterbirth passage. It's so cold and pouring, right now. I checked on her earlier and she had bedded herself and babe in the shelter. Great first time mom. Her sister should be having hers anytime now. Pretty sure she'll have twins.

I'll update the sheep website with lamb pictures soon.

    Thank you, Adnilee.

Frisky delivered her twins about an hour ago. She had a ram and a ewe lamb.

Cassie's lamb is a ewe. All have classic ABS colors. Frisky is still busy licking.
I helped her get one partially dried up, it was shaking and shivering and she kept working on the first one. Then, I carried both to the shelter at Frisky's nose level and layed them inside for her to finish licking. It's very cold and breezy. Glad she had hers before nightfall like Cassie did.
Ewes and lambs are all doing well.

Next, Heidi, early April and maybe, Sandy, too. Their lambs will be from Billy.

    Happy Shepherdess,
    :yeeha:

Grinning ear to ear, I think so.

All are already trotting behind their moms in the winter pasture. Frisky's ram lamb boldly already leaves his moms side and explores. The big ram butted him today when he got to close to him.....not hard. :)
