With the thread on Home Economics being taught in schools in CF, I thought I'd see what was online, and look what I came across!

It's a library of online textbook images from old home economics texts -- some of them are VERY old. There is probably some usable info there, for those of you who teach Home Economics as a subject, and there is DEFINITELY a few things to giggle over!

wow, those are amazing!

I found the 'sewing for primary students' section really interesting ... kids in lower elementary were expected to hem fabric, and stitch patterns, and sew on buttons!

"Go home and find samples of these fabrics in the scrap basket" ... of COURSE there is a scrap basket at home!

What a neat window into history ... and useful information, too!
