Bridget, one of my first two Nigerian Dwarf does, is showing strings of goo tonight. I've been watching her closely for the last two weeks, but she's been keeping her legs crossed. :p

    Looks like tonight, or tomorrow!

This is a goat that I didn't think could get pregnant, as she ran with the buck before I bought her last May and nothing happened, and I figured my buck was too short to do the deed, five months ago. She must have stood in a hole for him.

I'm so tired tonight that I'm glad it's not me. But I'm excited for you. Strings of goo usually means kidding is imminent. Good luck!!

Nothing as of this morning, just a little bit of goo. She couldn't have picked a hotter weekend for it! Guess I'll be running out to the barn every hour or so. Yesterday, she was lying down a lot, not terribly interested in hay, but today she's eating like it's the end of the world. No wonder the word "capricious" comes from "caprine"!

APPway, my Nigerians aren't in with my Saanens! Unfortunately, all of my adult Nigies have horns (they came with them) and my big goats don't, so I have to keep them separate. I'd love for you to have her though - but you're just too far. I don't think FedEx will take goats! :p Sure you wouldn't like a couple of Nigerians?

    Hi Pookshollow
Any kids yet??? Watched the weather this morning and it looks like you are still having the hot weather up that way said the heat index was going to be 42c with a tepm of 36c. been like fall here only 21c today. Hope she has nice kids for you.

As for Nigerians I would love a doe or 2 and if there was any way I could get up that way I would sure take them along with the saanen. but I doubt I will be heading that way at any time soon. Maybe someone from that area will be coming down to the casino in Regina for a Holiday or to the Rolling stones concert in regina and they could bring them down eh. (guess I am a big dreamer)
Any way Let us know if your girl had her kids and what she had and don't forget Pics. and if you want to send pics of the Saanen and the Nigerians you sure can.

Still nothing! :grump: I think she's messing with my mind.

And you're right about the weather - I don't know how I'm going to get through the day at work. I work in a warehouse and three shipments came in yesterday that need to be put away - no air conditioning.

Stranger things have happened. I fell in love with a horse on the Internet, from Manitoba - now she and another one are out grazing in my pasture!

Well I hope after a Hot day at work you will come home and find Healthy happy Bouncing kids in your barn. You Know how they like to do it when you are not around.

Well I don't seem to be the person that runs into that luck but I will pray and see what happens.

Let us know when she has her Kids and try and stay cool up there.

Still waiting! :grump: And to quote a country song - it's hot enough to make the devil sigh. I got up this morning, got dressed putting on clean underwear, went out to milk and had to change right down to the skivvies - just couldn't face putting anything back on. YUCK!

    <whimper, whimper - is it winter yet?>

You suppose she'll drop it on the first cool morning you get? Some animals do that. Isn't this heat wave stuff only suppose to last a couple days? And then a cooler strip is behind it.

Well, this morning is lovely and cool - finally! Still no signs of kidding. I think she wants to give it to me as a birthday present (October  ). Goats! :grump: :p

Ah well, it's a long weekend for us - be nice if she had it while I was home!

Ya all are killing me with all this baby talk! I've still got until end of December or later before my little doe is old enough to BREED, then MONTHS before she has babies...... and I'm just DIEING for that time to come.

I've got like a YEAR before I see babies around here. Unless I find an older doe to buy. But I can't wait until mine can have little ones. :Bawling:

That's where I was last year - so I went out and bought a big doe already milking. :)

I've got a couple more Nigerians due sometime in the next couple of months. They were pen-bred, so who knows when? From now on, I will be hand-breeding them, so I don't have all this "is she or isn't she"!

I'm in trouble - I see that the fellow I bought Angel, my Nubian cross, from has some more kids for sale. Do I dare call? :p
