Hello everyone! I recently heard there is an outbreak of meningeal worm in the northeast. My vet advised she has treated 5-6 farms in my area for it already. I personally had many come down with it and initially the vet, and her colleagues, felt it couldn't be mw because so many animals were ill. They felt it was mineral deficiency.

She also informed me that's is often fatal to alpacas no matter how quick they are treated!

Thanks for the url SJSFarm. That is one of my favorite sites.

I do think my herd has been affected this year by those meningeal worms. It has been unusually wet all summer long and, from what I've read, that is a contributing factor.
