i'm a little bit curious about normal temps in goats in hot weather. does somebody of you now what temp your goats have in hot weather? right now it is 94 at my place and both my girls have according to my thermometer 104. they act normal no diarrhea, coughing or rasseling sounds when breathing.
so, what is normal? i would like to get some actual readings from some of you.
    thank you

Sure, ambient temperature has a definate impact on a goat's temp, especially if they've been doing some physical activity (like being chased around to get their temp), but 104 degrees F. is just a smidge high even for that. If I were you, I'd go out and retake their temperatures in the cool of the morning, and if they are still 104, I'd start considering infection, and take measures to control it. Even without any other symptoms.

This morning my goat's temp is 101.3 - it was 48* last night.

Yesterday afternoon it was 101.6 - after playing and wandering around their pasture. It got to 62* yesterday.

(I can do just about anything to New Goat as long as I let him sit in my lap. Those are his temperatures.)
