Forgive me if this seems painfully obvious to some, but how exactly does one connect a nipple waterer to a bucket? The one's I've seen are for screwing onto a hose end. Thanks!

I'm sure there are probably many ways to do it. What I did was screw the waterers into the "_" part of a "T" and a pipe into the "l" part of the tee so it looke like _l_ then screwed a barb fitting onto the pipe so that I could connect tubing to it and the bucket (with another barb fitting in a bulkhead fitting in the bottom of the bucket)

I then screwed the pipe and waterer assembly to a post using pipe hangers.

Yes, the key to this is the "bulkhead" fitting, which allows attaching standard plumbing parts to an ordinary bucket.

I've seen where people drill a hole in the bucket, slip the nipple in place and epoxy it tight.
