nesting material

Can I throw some shredded newspaper in the nesting box too?? Both does are pulling fur, but it is supposed to be rather cold the next couple of nights & I thought the extra might help with keeping the babies warm.

Yes you can use shredded newspaper. I use straw or even alfalfa when I am out of straw.

I put bermuda in the hutch and let the does use as much or as little as they want. normally, they use it all, making a nice base, then line it with fur. It sure must be cozy in there!

Of COURSE!!!! Just leave out the glossy and colored pages. Mine have always had either newspaper or straw - sometimes both - in their nest boxes.

Fair warning: the babies, as they get older, will eat the newspaper. It has never harmed any of mine, but I thought I'd better warn you.
