Does anyone here do cracking, or have any information on this? What I need to crack the husks off the kernels. It seems that all the machinery that does this is made outside of the country and the shipping charges to hometown USA was just out of the question. As what I could gather over the net that it details some kind of squirrel cage impact process. Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Timber,

I take it you are referring to de-hulling.

Corona Grain Mill is a hand or electric powered grain mill that has an optional de-huller attachment for sunflower seeds.

The low-tech way is to allow them to sun-dry for a few days and then flail them on a canvas or cloth. Have to winnow them to blow off the hulls after this process.
