I have a friend who has asked to collect some leaves from my black current and raspberry bushes this summer to make tea. Neither of us has any idea of when this should be done. I know that herbs like oregano have the most flavor if collected for drying as the flower buds are forming. Is it the same for black currents and raspberries?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Raspberry: Leaves may be gathered before flowering and dried for use in infusions, tinctures or tablets. The roots may be dug up in summer and dried for decoctions. Fruits are gathered when ripe and dried for use in decoctions, or used fresh or frozen for culinary purposes.

Black Current: before flowering.

However, it isn't really critical. The leaves can be harvested just about any time.
