    Hello Everyone!
My name is Sun, and I have just payed my down payment on my 9.4 acres near Cabool Missouri. I am going to move out to this land in the spring (around April 1st). The reason for this post is that I want a good name for my farm. I am going to build a stick frame house, but it will be a biologically sustainable home, with passive solar, gray water recycling into a indoor green house, solar power, solar hot water, and so on.
My father is going to be living with me, and doing most of the building until it is completed. I have been working 15-18 hours a day 7 days a week to save up money for the project. I am raising enough money to make enough payments that I won't have to get another job till July 2008. That way I can devote all my time to the land, home, and my daughter Lamia. Lamia will be 1 year old December 8th.
I want a name that is fitting for a 19 year old single mom that is undertaking a huge project, and that reflects all of the information above. My father came up with the name "Sun Spot Farm" but.....

    Thanks much, bed time
    Sun

    Congrats to you!!

    How about "The Rising Sun"?

I thought this might signify the sustainable aspect (solar, etc.) and also include your name and that fact that you are rising to the challenges you have faced and will face in the future.

That's quite an accomplishment at 19. Congratulations.

Welcome, Sun, from Willow Springs. I, personally, like Sunny or, Sunny's Dream--my daughter had 4 kids, with a husband in the service, she called her's Confusion Farm

I think your member name would be great. I'd love to at SunsSpot. No "The" or "Farms" or anything, just SunsSpot.

    Sunspot-

    Welcome! Wow-you inspire me!

Can't think of any better name than already suggested but I'll keep thinking.

When we were thinking of buying our 20 ac, my DH kept saying, "oh, it's too far-it's too far." So when we signed the papers he said, "what will we name it?" I said "Too Far"! (Sometimes I'm sooo good!) That's not all-he used to be a respiratory therapist & has sold oxygen so I thought "O2 Far" would be really clever. That's what's up on our entrance gate.

You are all so great! I have all of these written down, and will keep checking to see what else comes in.

Does anyone here live near Cabool, or West Plains? I will be looking for goats, used sliding patio doors, starter rabbits, and anything else I can lay my hands on..

Thanks so much, All of you
