We have a volunteer that grew and it turned out to be the best tasting one we have. It's a pale creamy yellow inside and tastes a bit like rasberries. I've been told that it is the exception to the rule tho...usually a pit will turn out to be root stock type of fruit. So, it may end up being the root stock plant and you could graft it later. You'll never know until you try. I've had success with pecans and have some 20 foot trees that are producing nuts now.
