I found my grandmothers canner, it is a National No. 7. I would love to use, but what is the gasket part number? I saw online I can use a AA weight, is that true?

thanks for your help

National Pressure canners are now Presto canners. National 7 is now Presto 7. They are 16 qt. canners.

Here's a link to Pressure Cooker Outlet. I have used them for parts and such and am very pleased with the service. The 1st link is to the main page, the 2nd is to the Presto parts page.

http://www.pressurecooker-outlet.com/Presto-Pressure-Cooker-Parts.htm Scroll down near the bottom for th 16 qt. canners and see if the model numbers match yours.

If needed, you can call the company and they can get you on your way.

I am still using my mother's National 7 she bought in 1938. About 10 years ago I bought one in much better condition off ebay for about $15. I use it for parts in an emergency.

As for parts.................... On line I get them here or find the part number and google for a better price.

Some Farm Supply Stores and Ace Hardware Stores stock the parts......
