Hi everyone.
I'm posting this for my dog, Lucy. She is four years old, and most things make her stressed and scared. She was usually happy and loved the attention from everyone, but now she behaves differently;
I hate seeing her like this.
My friend suggested zylkene for stress relief. Did anyone try zylkene? Is it good for stress relief?

The sites I've read on zylkene state it is used mainly for situational stress, not something given daily to reduce daily stressors.

What you wrote, sounds like she was fine, then something happened to make her stressed. I'd give her "exposure therapy" with lots of love and support.

My sister swears by a GOOD CBD oil for a dog easily stressed. She had a dog that was easily stressed and would bite people, including her and family members. Dog hasn't bitten anyone for a couple years now. I have NO idea what CBD oil she uses. Sure there's somewhere on the 'net that can make suggestions.

Have you considered some training to help your dog become confident and get past whatever frightened her? We had a skittish dog (older rescue) as did our neighbour and with obedience training and a lot of exposure to different environments and people (socialization) both dogs became happy and confident.

My cats have been acting stressed every few weeks, and as of last night I now know why. There were 2 FOXES in my back yard yapping at my cats! When I heard them I went outside and chased the foxes off, and the cats ran inside and showed signs of stress for the rest of the evening

Your dog might be stressed for a reason. And I intend to make it a point to get my cats inside well before sunset.

For anxiety after anything physical or situational have been ruled out, fluoxetine (Proza) works quite well for many dogs (and cats) with ongoing anxiety. It’s extremely inexpensive to buy at Costco, after your vet calls it in. Far more so in my experience than any CBD product, and it has been clinically tested.

We had a cat that was on Prozac for many years for fur pulling behavior and attacking people randomly. Can confirm.

We had my beloved dog on Prozac for the last year of his lifebecause of dementia induced anxiety. It did help. We now have our 12 year old cat on it because he started marking around the time the dog died in October. It appears to have fixed the problem. (Knocking wood). Though we have his compounded so it’s liquid and tuna flavored.

It's important to understand the cause of stress in your dog, ask yourself what can influence his discomfort:
Moving
A death or birth in the family
The arrival of another animal
A dietary change or a poor diet
Loneliness or boredom
Separation or estrangement
Unusual noises (fireworks, thunderstorms, gunshots, firecrackers, etc.)
Unsociable character - your dog is stressed out when there are people at home
Health problems - stress can be caused by pain
Recent or past trauma
Food poisoning

Hi there, Thank you for your suggestion.
I found an online site, and they are providing zylkene capsules without side effects and trustworthy. So I bought some bottles of zylkene 450mg and treated my dog with that. Now my dog is acting better. If this is not working in future, I will decide to go for exposure therapy.
