I read an article on planting mushrooms in a container in you basement but I didn't quite understand what they planted. My understanding was that they planted ground up mushroom pieces. Could somebody clarify what you plant, is it ground up mushrooms or do you plant seed?

I would love to know because we are mushroom crazy in this house. Go through two packages a week.

Can you do this with shytake mushrooms?

www.fieldforest.net has a nice catalog. I bought a kit from them for a christmas gift that uses rolls of toilet paper as the growing medium :D

    Pinetree Gardens (superseed.com) also sells kits $25 - $33
