Feel for the people that live in flood/high water susceptible areas..I think the govt should build easily accessible

shelters...big shelters for people along the coast...and far enough inland to escape ocean surges but still reachable by

car, bus. Easy to suppy and easy to shut down when not needed...

yes indeed! thank you for the updates. i always check in to see if we are getting anything from them. last one we got quite a bit of rain which we sorely needed. the wind i can do without. ~Georgia

Today marks the first time in history there have been 5 named storms in the Atlantic at once.

On the forecast track, the center of Sally will move over the north-central Gulf of Mexico today, approach southeastern Louisiana tonight, and make landfall in the hurricane warning area on Tuesday or Tuesday night.

Afterward, Sally is expected to move slowly north-northeastward near the northern Gulf Coast through Wednesday.

RAINFALL: Sally is expected to be a slow moving system as it
approaches land, producing 8 to 16 inches of rainfall with isolated
amounts of 24 inches over portions of the central Gulf Coast from
the western Florida Panhandle to far southeast Louisiana through the
middle of the week.

I thought it had happened once before in the early '70's...huh... I'll have to go look it up!

Looks like ole' Sally is up to 100 mph Cat 2...or so our local weather man just said on the 9pm cut in...
