Wow.....now I'm embarrassed. Reminds me of telling my
boss....."promise little and deliver a lot". Seems I got it backwards
Lol.
Truth is I had some good summer pics lost because of d amn
SIM card failure. Now something going on with my app password
not connecting with faulty email. Talked with young girl at
work knows how to straighten out the problem by creating
another app/email configuration. Tomorrow I will have to
get together with her to grab the bull by the horns and finally
upload that HT app so I can ACTUALLY use it.

Don't expect too much. My life is more boring and mixed up
than you can imagine. Thank you for your patience!

Even though I don't often respond to pics you guys post I
always appreciate the pictorials and you homestead 'doings'
especially the outdoorsy stuff, gardening, animals and...of
course the end results of the process.......food ! And even if
it's food for thought....like elkhound 's cellar...... It's all good.

Not at all boring! Keep those pics flowing. Those lavender
orpingtons are really cool.

When I get posting pics I have to admit I live in a pretty
nice environment on zen stead. Still can access some fairly
interesting stuff from past couple years not shown before...

Love the Chukars!!! Do you breed them to turn loose on Zenstead or for dinner???

I just started raising chukars this year from a few eggs I hatched in the incubator, then added 12 more young birds
that are shown above. They are fast becoming my favourite birds on the stead.

Here are a few pheasants with chukars in the big flight pen:

Is that a Swedish Harlequin hen on the lower left side of photo? I have 2 of the hens and one drake.

That is a welsh harlequin female...purebred . Remarkable layers and handy foragers. The others are blue Swedish, black Swedish, white Pekins and a few mixed. All were my own zenstead bred and hatched.

Here is my group of 7 that are 3 years old hang together in
A tight knit snobbish group from the others . Not a good pic, but the black ones are what I call black harlequins. They are crosses with welsh and the black swede....really good layers and tame beggers....will follow all over the place if I carry a bucket of feed. Lol

Yup!....along with begging, shaming, coercing, and a bit of
bellyaching. Lol

I had to offload the app temporarily. Some glitch in the
system soured access to my email accts. So the scheduled
Software update will hopefully get me back on track with help
of my young workplace cohort iphone wonder girl. Then I reload
apps to resume the zen show.

All 3 are purebred from a friend of mine that raises them. I absolutely LOVE their eggs!!! I am curious though - how long do they lay? Mine laid from spring till the end of July or so.

My welsh lay eggs from March to October. They are like
Khaki Campbell's I once raised.
Some of the young that hatched in June are laying now.
Every day I'm still picking up an egg or two and its mid November.
