Could a miniature donkey be a companion for a miniature billy goat?

Anybody in south central Missouri have a mini donk for sale?

I suppose a donkey could be a good enough friend for a buck. However, somehow I imagine that a buck goat will get on the donkey's nerves one time or another, and the donkey could kick it.

A donkey would be more expensive than a wether goat, however. Why don't you just try to find one of those?

We don't have a donkey, but our goats and miniature horses get along great! Never had any problems with aggession from either and they really seem to enjoy being together.

Why would it have to be a mini wether? Because of housing/pasture restrictions? If that's the case, I'd say that a mini donkey would take up probably the same space as a full size wether, IMO.

I just don't want to have to mess with a bigger animal. :)
Since the goats are pets primarily, the mini donk would just be an additional to our barnyard family.

We have a mini donk and there are a few problems keeping her with the goats. First of all, a mini-donk does not require, and in fact can founder, on the grain and alfalfa our goats get. That means you have to separate them at feeding time as the donk will kick or bite to get into the goat feed. After all, alfalfa and grain taste GOOD, and the donk doesn't understand why everyone else is getting the good stuff and she can't have it. For company in the field, it's fine, and they do keep each other company, but even over grass hay, the donks can get food agressive. I just don't think it's the best option. I know they are advertised as predator protection, and they might be, but I still worry about the goats, especially young stock, in with the monkey. I actually think our full size horse is better with our goats than is our donkey. I'd recommend a wether for your buck's buddy. JMHO, YMMV
