Fairly recently, I learned that my dad was recommended for a Bronze Star for action during the Korean War. However, his commanding officer didn't follow through because he left the USMC right after that since the war ended. (The C.O. did, not my dad) Since then, the C.O. died.

Do any of you who are vetrans know what I can do to pursue this? I understand there are many who did not get medals they earned. I can think of no better way to honor my father than by seeing to it that he gets what he has earned.

In the major links sticky there is a site where you or the veteran can pursue an office furnished by the Navy to have reissued metals for MC vets. I do not recall its placement exactly but do know its there. Will look later today.

Found it at the 13th one down from the top, in the major links sticky. Addresses are supplied to inquire about awards and metals for each service there.
