I would tell the law. I'd tell them all I knew and who I thought it was too! Can't prove it no! but they will brag about this, you can bet your boots on it!

Also call a newspaper reporter and have it in the paper. Do it all right and it will come out...still that wont buy another house will it! How sad for this family!

Would be nice if folks would chip in and help him. Around here they have spaghetti dinners, bake sales, etc. to help their neighbors. This way talk would get around and someone might let slip who did it. These are scary folks. All for want of some wildlife. Imagine if we have to hunt some day for survival. Scary.

After looking at these sad photos again, I have decided if I have to run someone off our property, I will make sure they see me get their license number, model and make of their vehicle. AND, will give a copy to my neighbor. If they are walking, they probably have a vehicle close by. In conversation, you might be able to get them to reveal their names.

Rock,
Sorry to see the total disrespect for private property.
After you find out where they work, their names, their license plate numbers etc.... then tell them that they are on private LEASED hunting property. Get pics if possible. Be sneaky getting their information. Have a notebook to get their numbers written down for next years lease so you can notify them if a slot opens up.

Well they was a neighbor of his.Pulled a gun on him.Had him very scared. He went to the Law then, but it was his word against theirs.

Then this happen. It happens all the time around here, they would just set my woods on fire.Got 10 foot from the house one time.Forestry would come out put it out then leave just to be called out again.Like I told them, might as well burn it all while their here to get it over with,so thats what we did.

Told the story before about an Old Woman that wanted me to burn a Guy out.I wouldn't few days later his place was burnt.

Thing is the people that I think do this,I have set next to them in Church. They've been around here for years and well liked by most.

What a horrible thing to happen. I'm so sorry about what happened to this family, but I agree with others, sooner or later the criminals will brag about it to a friend or relative and someone will turn them in. Then I hope they go to prison for a VERY long time. Won't help your friend get his home back though, but might give him a bit of satifaction.

I agree with what Sugar said....they'll be bragging at some point.
That an't going to get anything done around here.It is common to have people tell how its a dang shame so ands so had Lightning strike his place or shame what happens when a Match is dropped.Or you want Deer,go get one, season don't matter around here. The Law knows, just need to catch them in the act.As matter fact they did catch one setting woods fire,Forestry gets there,he says oh I'm so glade you are here I was trying to put this fire out.

Then the church should start the fund raisings for this neighbour who was burned out and now has nothing. Why don't you get them going?
Truth I would probably be burnt out.I know one time I was helping a Guy put out a fire and I was told not to be doing this that it was none of my business.I've had a few turn on me and just hint it was in my best interest not to be worrying about any fires around here. They are for a reason whether it is to run someone out or just to clear the woods.

Got one guy that lives down the hill from me goes to Church,he will not say a word because he knows I've had the Law out here and I've put a stop to some of his Fire Burning. He is still mad at me because I bought part of his property and he still thinks of it as his. This is the same Guy that shot down the Forestry Plane. He was hanging out with Guys that were squating on Public Land, everyone was scared of them.Well one got caught setting Cabins on fire. The others just finally moved out.

No just to keep from getting my own place burnt I think it best I let on that I'm distancing from the person being burnt out.Scared you dang straight!

Seems like it's time to reference your other thread on losing bodies.

On a more serious note, where are you at down there? We are looking at moving back to that part of the country in June. I may have to move across the border into Arkansas where the people are nicer. Of course I grew up in Arkansas too.

OMG that's horrible! How can you feel safe living in a community like that? My stomach turns just thinking about it. I guess you are wise to stay out of it, but it is so sad. Be careful, please. I think this is one of the scariest things you have posted about your community. (great, like I needed something else to worry about! lol) Be so careful Rock. It would be horrible to hear that this happened to you instead of a neighbor. :(
