For Tracy and anyone else who grinds their rabbits- what kind of grinder do you use to grind the entire rabbit? (size, brand, source, cost, etc).

I actual have 2 grinders but the one I use most is a Hobart 10 h.p grinder. This thing weighs about 700 lbs. Cost new is $8,000 +. Also when you get into these commercial sizes most run on 3 phase electric and this will require 3 phase power ran or a 3 phase converter.

If you are doing just rabbit you would not need this size grinder, a 2 h.p would work but there might be cutting involved to get the rabbit down the shute. I have a whole line of pet foods [not just rabbit] and the bigger grinder is necesary when grinding harder bones like mutton or beef.

You can try Ebay. Look on the business and industrial listings and then under restaraunt. There is a catagory for meat grinder/mixers.

Thanks for the info, Tracy. Wasn't sure where to start when shopping for a grinder.
