What sort of volunteer hour requirements do the Master Gardener classes in your states require?

My wife's been after me to do this program, but I've got so many irons in the fire already that I just don't want any more time obligations.

.....Alan.
How did you find out about it?
Soundslike something I would be interested in!

We have a class in our area but it is quite expense. We found out from the Ag department in our town.
I have tried to post a reply twice and it keeps logging me out.I will try again later.I bet this will post though. :waa:
The class was 65.00.I found out about it in my newspaper.

They suggested talking to groups, writing an article for the newspaper, taking photographs of events, landscaping and diagnosing problems for people for the volunteer work.

Our first class was about soil and watering and irrigation. We had chili and sandwiches for refreshments.

Our classes are 5:30 till 9:00 once a week for 13 weeks. We got out at 8:30.
i took it last fall and some classes were great, some wore so boring i almost committed harikari. i loved the veg and fruit class, hated the poison classes. mine cost $95 and you have to do about 30 hours a year of volunteer work.

The Ohio Master Gardener manual is online. We are using it for a family homeschool science course.
