I am new to raising rabbits. I have a male NZW about a year old and he is losing his fur, is this normal? He seems healthy, eating and drinking ok. No diarrhea. The female and kits are not losing fur.

    Are they living all together??

Rabbits deficient in protein will eat other rabbits fur.

The male is in his own cage.

Most of it is coming off his back, just back from his ears.

While it could be mites, it could it also be that he is simply "blowing" (shedding) his fur. Some of our Californians have been doing this all summer.
