Are there such things? I have a steel door and I'd hate to try to drill holes in it to mount some blinds and a valance. I think I saw such a thing once but I can't remember where.

The door is in the kitchen and the window in it is fairly large.

I'm trying to have privacy at night but plenty of light during the day.

Yes, there are magnetic curtain rods.
A friend of mine has them, and I've been thinking of getting one for my steel back door. I'll ask her where she got them.

You'll probably already have an answer by then, but I'll check back here just in case.

    I just searched on www.ask.com.
Levolor makes them, so they're carried many places, including Lowe's, Sears, etc. Other brands are out there as well.
Do a search and you may find some near you.

Yes Ardie there are magnetic blinds available too. Not real cheap though. www.ImprovementsCatalog.com. Walmart has the magnetic rods for steel doors. I think they are around $3 or so

We have a magnetic rod on our back door with a valance, and I'm pretty sure we got it at Wal-Mart. It works great.
