I have a pet mini-lop. Two years ago, I noticed his front bottom teeth were growing over his top ones. So I regularly clipped them.(ick). Last year, they seemed to be growing OK, so I patted myself on the back for having corrected the problem. Today I took a good look at him and sure enough the teeth are messed up again. And on top of that, there are more teeth growing in in back of the top ones!

Can I do anything to get these teeth to get gnawed down? Other than a daily carrot, would anything else help to keep them in shape?

    Hi Christina,

I think this particular issue is probably going to have to be taken to a vet. Malocclusion in any form is serious and in this case, I'm guessing if you don't have a vet's help, you could lose your bunny.

I wish I had an answer for you....You can try searching the Merck Manual Online and see if it renders any help...

Keep us posted and let us know how your bunny is doing...

Christina, here's a website that might give you some help. It does sound as if the vet will have to pull some of those teeth. I definitely wouldn't breed your bunny, no need to pass those traits on! http://www.lbah.com/Rabbits/malocclusion.htm. Good luck! Jan in CO
