    Could be one of a couple reasons:

    1. They are a good forager-type pig (Do well on pasture and waste feed) and the sows are good milkers and good mothers.

    2. They are trendy, as in you aren't a real homesteader unless you have heritage breeds.

    The first one is a good reason depending on your type of operation, but I wouldn't pay a huge premium for them

    They are to keep some tamworths company in a heritage breed farming endeavour I am helping establish.

    From the prices I see asked for the Gloucestershire Old Spots Pigs the Tamworths would have to keep themselves company!
