Not the invasive Oriental one...but the true American Bittersweet. My parents always had it in their yard and I miss it...where can I get some, or can I barter for it on this forum?
    TIA, Jillis!

Bittersweet makes sweeter then sweet, wonderful wreaths. Make sure you capture the berries, too. Deb

Question about bittersweet vine: I live in the Southwest - high desert- and have never seen this vine around here. I see it used for wreaths in magazines and it is so beautiful. I would like to grow it and I now know I don't want the invasive Chinese type. But perhaps it will only grow well on east coast....does anyone grow it in the west??

Hi Connie---I don't think it grows in the Southwest. Here is a link that contains a map of the growing regions for American Bittersweet.

There is an American bittersweet plant growing in the woods abutting the parking lot where I work. I'll take a look tomorrow morning, and if it hasn't gone by, I would gladly seed you some seeds.
