I got to the township building at 7:15 this morning and there was no place to park! Cars filled the lot and were parking out on the road. A line out the door meant a fairly long wait, but also a chance to say good morning to the neighbors. Inside I found that I was #59. VERY unusual for our little township.
I nearly always arrive about the same time, and usually am #5 or so. Guess the folks at the courthouse are going to be up very very late tonight counting ballots!

We waited about 45 minutes in line at our very rural polling place. DH and I were numbers 89 and 90 on the list. Everyone was commenting on how unusual the wait was.

I already voted last week, but the lines were supposed to be long here in the city. At work, our department manager told everyone to go ahead and vote without worrying about being docked for being late to work. There's always a lot of work to be done in the mornings, but so long as you're voting, there's no penalty for being late on election day. Thank goodness! I'll bet it will take some people hours.

I was in line at 6:40 this morning for the 7am opening. I was number 56 in the A-L line. Took me half an hour after the doors opened to do my part for John and Sarah :)

I voted by mail (Oregon closed down the polling years ago, I miss it) so no lines here. I am so happy to see so many people vote! I think it's wonderful, sorry everyone is having the wait though.

My wife and I were voters #10 and #11 in a line of 40 or so. We got there at 06:50. We vote in a township of 224 homes.

we just got back. Polls opened at 7 we were there at 7:30. 2 1/2 hours in line. Our polling place is the local fire department and their parking lot was full, the restraurant across the road had a full parking lot and they were lining the roads. Then when we finally got up to the building they started bringing in people from the back with names from N-Z. I complained about it and so did several others. One gal I saw come up and park had been there less than 20 minutes and voted before we did. And to top it off we had newcomers to the area who have moved here and are already complaining cause things are not like they were back up North.

Just got back from voting. We were numbers 60 and 61 for our district, at 9 am. Our town is divided into different voting districts and there were 4 districts voting in one court room where we went. They had a judge on the bench ready for problems. There was a lot of people there and I expect there will be a lot more later this evening after work. Looks like a high turnout.

We are going to go when hubby gets off work at 4:30 today. Most of our area usually votes early. So I hope we won't have a long wait, but if so it will be worth it to vote and also come home to a Porketta, gravy, mashed potatoes, mixed vegies and some homemade bread... Yep, It should be a nice eve.
I also am VERY happy to see the amount of people coming out to vote and MORE than anything I am so glad that I live somewhere where I am alowed to vote. Gotta love the USA.

I got to our very small rural place to vote (an old one room school house!) at my regular time of about 7:15. We have 2 voting machines and both had people at them when I went in, but no one standing in line. So by the time they got me signed in, I was able to go to a machine to cast my vote. (Oddly enough they didn't tell me what number I was. Usually my wife & I are the first 5 or so to vote.)

My wife hasn't gone yet as she is still trying to decide who to vote for. She doesn't like some of the ones already in office seeking reelection, but doesn't like the alternative person who is running!!!!!!

Seeing as how there seems to be a very large turnout, I wonder if some of the polling places will have to remain open longer than usual due to people still waiting in line at closing time?

Yep, I'm guessing many people will be counting votes way into the late night / early morning hours!

I just returned from voting..in my tiny place in the country there are perhaps 600+ folks..the parking lot was full so I had to wait just a few minutes for a spot..no line, but there were +/- 30 people voting..not unusual for this area..most folks vote in every election. What was funny is that the same folks in the voting center showed up at the post office like me ..Vote..then check your mail..then go home and have a cup of tea. LOL.

DH got in a line of 17 people at 5:30 this morning, waiting for the polls to open at 6. He said by the time he got out, just after 6, it was getting very busy.

I voted at 10:00 and there was no line at all, but it was a steady stream of people.
