There is an old welder on the property we just bought -
the chassis is in really good shape, but the motor - a perkins
diesel, looks like it needs a bit of work.

Does anybody know who might be a potential buyer for this thing?

I know I could take the motor off and find a good use for the trailer portion around the farm even if the motor turns out to be useless.

What do you know about these?

Where are you located? I might be interested in the machine if you don't live far away.

If the motor is a 3 cyl. Perkins, it might still be ok. They seem to hold up well. I'm still running one in my 1967 MF backhoe, and one of the welding and metal fabrication companies in my area are still using at least 3 of them on there welders and generators.

Also depending on what part of NY you are at I also might be interested.

It is worth fixin up and even worth puttin a lot of time into learnin how its used! most people would give their eye teeth for a welder like that, most likely it can also be used as a backup genset. although i aint sure about that, I was given a hobart that had an old wisconsin on it and only cost me about $100 in parts to git the enigine up and running on it.

how much you wanting for it in its current condition?

Don't know how much we want for it. We want it gone.
We have too many things going on and hope somebody with the time and energy to put into it would want it.
I guess in this case we're looking for the elusive "best offer" or trade.
