leeks & ramps

    a friend gave me some starts today.I am not familiar with these plants,do I plant them in sun or shade?Do they multiply?Mary

    Give those ramps shade and rich woods soil. Not pine tree shade but deciduous tree shade. Mine have held their own for years under a black walnut tree. If they happen to fail, don't blame yourself. They are often a difficult plant to grow in "captivity" since it is almost impossible to duplicate the conditions that they need.
