late asparagus???

    i was pleasantly surprised to find asparagus spears today. i don't know if i remember seeing as many this late in the season. anyone else having this luck in zone 6? :)

    We had some also. We were having a very dry summer and then lately a lot of rain. I suppose the plants responded to the sudden moisture? We are in zone 4.

    Hey Guys;If you cut the Ferns back in summer you will get a second (Fall)Harvest as well.This method does reduce what you'll get next spring,but you do get a double harvest.Pro-Con.-

    This was my first asparagus bed so I didn't harvest any. Every time I thought they were done sending up spears, here came another batch. I had three main batches. I have no idea what's normal. I'm in zone 5/6
