some friends are having a hog roast and i have been offered the drippins'. i will try to make soap with it. the hog is not very big, maybe 100-125 lbs. how much can i expect to get from it dripping out of the cooker? i need to get containers ready.

depends on if the hog is skinned or not, with skin about 3-4 gallons...without about 2 gallons...we use a 5 gallon bucket on a 180 lb hog every year, and it gets filled.

meloc - I don't know if you've lard for soap before but be sure to render it very very slowly. This helps eliminate the piggy smell that some people complain about. :1pig:

    I love lard in soap!!!!
