If anyone wants to know, our flock will start to lamb on X-mas eve. We have 4 due on X-mas eve & 2 due X-mas day. The rest will lamb for the month of Janurary & a few ewes into Feburary. We have a mixed flock of about 10 Katahdins, and 20 North Country Cheviot. I am so happy to have the full farm back now that we are settled for good here in QC. The trip from Maine was hard leaving most of our animals behind at new homes. :(
After our ewes are done lambing, my Saanen & Alpine goats kid out in the months of Feburary & March. April is when our Boer goats kid, and May most of the Jersey cattle are due! (A few hereford beefers due at that time also.) :help: We are going to be in the hundreds in the spring! So different then our normal 15 livestock we had in Maine. Hubby is happy & so am I, so what more can we ask for? Hubby is still stressed from his mare still holding on to her foal. She was due last week! :flame: I know it will be a filly for sure. The fillies always take longer :) (us girls need to look good!)

Lambs are here and very heathly. Of the 6 Katahdin ewes, four sets of quad lambs, 10 ewe lambs, 6 ram lambs. 2 sets of triplet lambs, all ewes! This is a great start to the season, all the ewes are milking great and able to feed their lambs. Right now the ewes are in a 24 X 16 stall and on free choice ewe ration. We have another couple ewes looking ready to lamb before the new year, wish us luck.
Hubby was happy to find a little foal a couple days after this thread came to be. We have a little filly again! :)

I wish everyone the best this time of year during lambing!

Wow!! That's great. Where in Quebec are you roughly? I worry about the sheep on all the ice we've been having (and sharing west of us)

We are located on the eastern side of Quebec, we are about half an hour away from New Brunswick and the USA border. I used to worry about the sheep as we nevr had anything to cover them where they used to eat. DH has been wonderful and made a 30 X 34 lofting shed open on 2 ends to feed the sheep under. It is nice as you don't worry about them falling on the ice or the cold cold winds.
