721 Views 5 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  altair
Found lamb after second day of searching 6 wk old bottle lamb. Found laying down under pine tree, not reacting much and shaking a little hes is a little distended at the sides with a little green foam at the mouth. They were just let out to a new pasture and grass is growing rapidly I'm afraid he ate too much. Brought him home and gave him baking soda and water. will penicillin help? anything else cause I'm out of ides and we can't take him to a vet...

I've diagnosed him with frothy bloat, given him a 1/2 tsp of veggie oil and a shot of penicillin, he hasn't passed gas. but he's peed and poo'd, he's butting for milk can I feed him or would it make him worse?

Small amounts
Vegetable oil seemed to do the trick as well as walking him around. Overnight he perked up considerably and thankfully this morning he lost his bloat and is back to normal size so I turned him back out with the herd.
