Sunday a distraught friend phoned me. Her best Nubian doe, 4 yrs old, had delivered triplets that morning. One was a nice doe, the other a nice buck and the third was stiff as a board and the friend had to slowly work it out. The doe expelled the placenta, but she never quit laboring. She gave the doe lobelia that is supposed to stop contractions, but it didn't work. There are no vets around here to call. The doe got weaker and weaker. She called us to come butcher the doe rather than just let her suffer. We could see the birthing trauma, but the uterus looked fine and empty. Has anyone had this happen to one of their does, or any ideas? :waa: :waa: :waa:
