A friend of mine called last week to tell me she'd just read in the Banner sheep publication that LA200 can cause rams to go infertile for up to two months. Did you know that? I didn't. I gave my lame ram the generic knock off and am wondering if it's the active ingredient or something else that causes the problem. Guess I'll know come spring?

I had never heard that, but a quick google of "LA200 infertility" brought up enough hits to make me a believer. Here's a page that doesn't go into details, but does offer a list of approved off-label antibiotics and their uses.

Tracey, it's the active ingredient, not just something about LA200 itself. Yikes! Hope your spring expectations aren't ruined!!

    Hey Tracey,

I have also heard that about LA-200.
Believe it was from a Pipestone newletter, although I can't seem to dig it up.
A friend has used it without a problem, so it probably varies.

Supposedly only a 60 day issue, so no biggie. Not like it's a life long thing :)
