Does anyone have a simple pattern for a knit hat? My mom is blind but loves to knit. She has lots of single skeins of some lovely yarns and I thought if she could knit some hats for the grand kids, great grand kids and the kids she not only will use up the yarn but occupy herself. The biggest problem is the instructions. If it is simple she can remember but to many steps get too confusing.

This pattern uses super bulky weight yarn and size 15 needles
(gauge: ~2 1/2 stitches/inch in Garter Stitch)

CO 40
Knit all stitches until work measures 6" (7" if you want to roll up the edge)
Then decrease as follows
Row 1: *knit 5, knit 2 together* repeat
Row 2: knit
Row 3: *knit 4, knit 2 together* repeat
Row 4: knit
Row 5: *knit 3, knit 2 together* repeat
Row 6: knit
Row 7: *knit 2, knit 2 together* repeat
Row 8: knit
Row 9: *knit 2 together* repeat
Row 10: *knit 2 together* repeat

Cut a long tail and thread through the remaining stitches and draw them tight. Whip stitch side edges of hat together.
