    Hi all.
I'm looking for suggestions to keeping my garden food fresh longer. My neighbor uses a vacuum packager that sucks all the air out and she loves it. Any thoughts on this?

I have a vacuum sealer as well. I use it mostly when freezing stuff, but have also resealed packages with it, and will vacuum package stuff I dehydrated. Well worth the money (I got mine on ebay)

For real garden fresh, do successive planting combined with season
extenders both spring and fall...if you have a cold frame and/or a
greenhouse, you may be able to pick from them all year.

In a pinch (while waiting for that Ebay delivery) you can also use a straw to suck the air out of the baggies before freezing--that's how I put my beans and tomatoes up to freeze, (but careful not to inhale TOO deeply or you could choke. . . )
